The project consists of three offshore wind turbines. The majority of the windpark (80%) is owned by a community foundation. It was formed in 2010 by the local tourism association, local unions, industry and utilities. The shoreline where the turbines are installed is owned by the harbour, which profits through the rent. Because the project is community led, it was successful and accepted by the community and able to settle so close to the shore. Private external companies previously failed to realise a project so close to the community due to public dissent.
