The input data for the RELAP5 control volumes is documented in Reference [2]. The input data for the control system is primarily based on Reference 3. Other applicable references are provided in the Results Section.
The following assumptions apply in the RELAP5 model. Additional assumptions regarding specific inputs are identified and discussed in Section 4, when necessary.
(1) The initial conditions for the start of all transients corresponds to nominal conditions at 4200 MW reactor power.
(2) The accident confinement system (ACS) is not modeled. Consequently, system inputs for the control system based on the ACS response must be user specified.
(3) For some systems in the RBMK-1500, such as the turbine control valve and the reactivity control system, the actual system is very complicated. It is beyond the scope of the current project to obtain and model the information necessary for these systems. Simpler control systems are described which approximate the response described in the system description documents [3].
(4) Auxiliary systems not perceived to be important to the primary system transient response are not modeled. These systems include:
