Information department (05)

Main areas of activity:  

• Search, cumulation, filing and analysis of information in the fields adequate to the research work at the institute;
• Providing info for the research, funded from the state budget;
• Publishing activities;
• Participating in arrangement of national and international subject exhibitions;
• Operation of International Nuclear Info System (INIS) in online mode;
• Preparing of proceedings for conferences;
• Preparing papers for national and foreign scientific and informational publications, contacts with editorial offices;
• Editing of journal “Energetika”, parts of “Thermal Physics” studies and other publications;
• Printing, scanning, layout, copying and photo activities;
• Information about FP7 programme.

The department concentrates its activities on mastering and implementation of new info technologies. Department (including library) is supplied with modern PC installations and software, modern copying equipment, etc. Library is implementing state program Lithuanian Science and Studies Info System (LieMSIS). Library stocks has accumulated over 100,000 copies of various specific and unique books, journals, manuals, studies, dictionaries, standards, theses, research reports, etc under the interest field of the institute. Operation of information system (INIS) of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)  by the department in “on-line” mode, permits our scientists to familiarize immediately with most recent publications and “non-traditional” references, which are stored in mentioned system.
