On September 26, 2018 Management and Steering groups meetings for the project “Ecological flow estimation in Latvian-Lithuanian trans-boundary river basins” (LLI-249, ECOFLOW) were held in Lithuanian Energy Institute. During these meetings project partners (LEI, LGVMC and BIOR) discussed financial matters of the project and future reports, which are planned for the last (fourth) period of the project.
About the project: On April 11th, 2017 Lithuanian Energy Institute together with Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre and Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment started the project “Ecological flow estimation in Latvian–Lithuanian trans-boundary river basins”. Main purpose of the project is to prepare an elaborate new methodology on E-Flow evaluation based on habitat simulation model and recommendations for the amendment to national water legislation. The new legislation would ensure effective implementation of E-flow principles, improvement of the strategic planning for water uses and the permitting process.
