PhD student Noura Elsalamouny won the ICONE-30 Best Paper award on the European continent

Noura Elsalamouny, PhD student at Lithuanian Energy Institute (LEI), participated in the 30th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering (ICONE-30). It is a top-level conference organized annually in different continents of the world. The main organizers of the conference were the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), the Chinese Nuclear Society (CNS) and the European Nuclear Society (ENS). This year the conference was held in Kyoto, Japan in 21-26 May 2023, it was attended by more than 1000 participants from all over the world.

Noura Elsalamouny took part in the student section of ICONE-30, where competition between students from different continents were organized. She presented the paper “Different numerical modeling approaches applied to RELAP/SCDAPSIM code for the simulation of the QUENCH-20 test”, this material is related to her Ph.D. thesis. LEI student won the ICONE-30 Best Paper award on the European continent.
