Metrology for smart metering in gas networks (SmartGasNet)

The project aims to improve the measurement infrastructure of gas networks to enable the integration of renewable gas sources such as biomethane and hydrogen. The primary focus is on developing methods, datasets, and best practice guidelines to ensure reliable and fair gas metering and billing. The models developed in the SmartGasNet project will enable the investigation of gas flow dynamics and network behavior, assessing the accuracy and uncertainty of measurements. Advanced methods will be developed to analyze time correlations in gas flow data, thereby increasing measurement reliability. The integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning will improve network efficiency, safety, and gas distribution control.
