Considering that the main objective of Researchers’ night is to bring researchers closer to the public at large in order to enhance researchers’ public recognition, the main aim of the project is to make an opportunity for people, in particular young people, to meet researchers within the context of festive and fun activities and to highlight the importance of a research career. We aim to reinforce the links between research institutions and citizens, bring research closer to the public and public closer to research in order to find better communication and also collaboration; to present various sciences and researchers from various scientific fields; to motivate younger people, graduating a high school, to choose researchers’ life or be more involved into science. Also, we intend to reinforce the link between researchers themselves among various disciplines.

Specific objectives include building up the researchers’ team from various fields. This team will organize various events (more than 50 events in 13 cities) during the Researchers’ night and will present the European and Lithuanian science. We aim to present researchers work and life in an artistic and attractive ways for various age groups. Also, we intend to have certain activities in main towns of Lithuania, as well in rural areas. Scientist and other researchers will go to their homeland (rural areas) to inspire society by their example. More than 210 scientists and other researchers will be mobilized for implementation events from various science fields and more than 21 different science institutions.

Awareness campaign that we are planning to built up together with professionals would be able to reach around 300 000 (10% of the whole population) Lithuanian citizens. Taking into account that we are planning to have life and online activities, we assume that around 7 000 people would participate in real life activities and visit various sites, while online would participate and watch broadcasting from the main sites around 10000 people, mostly of them younger people.

LEI activities in the Project
