Jurgis Vilemas, academician at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, on the 20th of November, 2018 celebrated his 80th year anniversary. He was the head of Lithuanian Energy Institute in the meaningful period for the institute during 1981-2004. He was invited to celebrate his anniversary together with his colleagues from the Institute and to share his memories on Institute’s development and transformation period and decisions taken, which enabled to develop the necessary infrastructure and gain competences in new research directions, related to liquid and gas metrology, issues related to safe operation of Ignalina NPP, efficient combustion of different fuel types, etc. The representatives from the World Energy Council Lithuanian committee, Lithuanian District Heating Association and Kaunas Energija AB arrived to congratulate academician Jurgis Vilemas.
